Community Meetings
Early Career Drop-in Networking Session
Tuesday 1 July 2025 16:00 – 17:00, Workshop 3
This workshop is organised by the Early Career Committee and is aimed at providing a space for Early Career Researcher’s (ECR’s) to network with each other and also learn more about what we do as a committee in an informal setting. We encourage both first time attendees of mmc and those who have been before to come along. There will be an option to take part in networking activities or to just take a break from the main conference programme to have a sit down and a chat with other ECR’s.
Optogenetics in the Super-resolution Regime
Thursday 3 July 2025 - 12:45 – 13:45, Workshop 1
Workshop lead: Viji Draviam, Light Microscopy Section, RMS ([email protected])
Optogenetics is a technique that combines genetics and optics to control biological activity with light, achieving precise and rapid manipulation of live-cells. It involves genetically modifying cells to express light-sensitive proteins, which allow for acute and reversible activation or inhibition of protein complexes, when illuminated with specific wavelengths of light.
