The mmc-series is known for incorporating popular events into the Congress to bring numerous communities together under one roof. Next year, the MSI will be hopping across the Irish Sea to join us in Manchester for mmc2017!
Ireland is home to many well-known microscopists, as well as a number of highly-regarded research centres across the country and successful enterprises and so we feel that welcoming these new Irish scientists will be a great enhancement to the Congress.
Dr Kerry Thompson, Secretary of the MSI said "“The Microscopy Society of Ireland (an all-island society) has a strong history of collaborations with other like-minded societies, in particular the Scottish Microscopy Group and the Royal Microscopical Society. It is a very natural progression to be actively involved in organising sessions at mmc2017, and I think MSI members will enjoy the event – particularly its breadth and scale - and bring something extra to it.”
The Microscopy Society of Ireland will be hosting their own session in the scientific programme, inviting abstracts from across life and physical sciences to complement their own line up of speakers. Abstract Submission will open in November 2016 with the Call for Papers announced shortly before. By signing up to receive the mmc2017 e-newsletter, you will be the first to hear when this happens.
